Royal Life Centers offers sober living housing during our 12-week aftercare program and our outpatient program. These sober living programs benefit guests who wish to rejoin society while living amongst the built-in sober support system found in Royal Life Housing and Graduate Housing.
After completing our inpatient programs, guests who would like to continue with us in our aftercare program most commonly will choose to live in our Sober Housing on property. Our Sober housing is only available to current guests who have completed our inpatient treatment programs. We model the responsibility of paying bills and budgeting with low weekly rent for a nice apartment or home that is fully furnished with cable/internet and is accompanied by the safety and security of a sober living staff nearby. Paying rent for sober housing begins after we help you find employment— in phase 2 of the 12-week program. Rent is a weekly cost of $50 (weeks 4-8) and rises to $75 (weeks 9-12).
Guests who have completed our 12-week program and obtained employment are eligible to move into our Graduate House when they step down to our outpatient program (OP). During outpatient, guests participate in a minimum of one group session per week and individual therapy once a month. For guests who stay with us in our Grad House, we provide daily transportation to and from meetings and the grocery store. Our graduate housing is ideal for guests looking to transition into an independent lifestyle while keeping the guidance and support available in addiction treatment and sober living.
Throughout all aftercare stages, guests are provided three timeslots for transportation to mandatory 12-step meetings. During PHP, guests participate in two 12-Step meetings on Saturday and Sunday, however, guests who elect to join the Royal Life Centers community meetings held on Saturdays can forego their 12-Step meeting for that day. Within Royal Life Housing, we implement policies to ensure that our guests can successfully hold employment while continuing their role within the sober community.
We understand the importance of stability and accountability in early recovery from substance use disorder, which is why we took care in the design and execution of our sober living housing. It’s critical for those who are just overcoming a substance use disorder to begin to re-build life skills and independence, but it is just as important that they know that support is available if needed, which is why our in-house sober living staff is accessible 24/7.
It’s also important that guests learn to take responsibility for their actions and make decisions based on anticipated outcomes. This helps with impulse control and ultimately creates a strong foundation upon which to build self-sufficiency.
For safety and accountability, guests in sober living are UA-tested twice a week. All bedrooms and living rooms are equipped with cable flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi and washers and dryers are available on each property. Visitors are also permitted on the property, and overnight passes are available.
Graduate Housing is much less structured than our 12-week sober living housing, but still provides guests the necessary accountability one needs in early recovery.
